This week I would like to introduce you to the lovely Jules, she is a business women, an entrepreneur and author! Her story is a must read, so sit back, grab your snacks and enjoy!
Jules has many talents and hobbies which consist of designing products for her coffee shop, photography, and writing. Jules is the co-owner with her mother of a coffee shop in Phoenix called 3’s Co. Coffee Bar. To be a business owner at such a young age is very impressive and quite inspiring! Jules states this is one of her best accomplishments! She shared that they opened the shop in September 2016 & they are currently planning their 1 year anniversary celebration! The celebration will take place on September 23rd 2017. Congrats to everyone at 3’s Co. Coffee Bar on such a great accomplishment! I can’t wait to go to her coffee shop and get some yummy java!
As you can tell Jules is very beautiful but she is also an extremely intelligent young woman #Beauty&Brains. She graduated from ASU with a B.A. in English and she was able to pay her way through college out of pocket! That’s right! You read correctly she completed college debt free, no loans or borrowing any money. Jules states this is another great accomplishment in her life. When I heard this I was blown away and thought how this story could be used as motivation for anyone– young or old. Anyone aspiring to go to college, Jules has shown that it is possible to set a goal, work hard and accomplish it! Another accomplishment in Jules’ life is that she is an author! She self published her first book in 2015 titled: “30 Days of Motivation to Success”. This is phenomenal; how many people can say they are a published author! WAY TO GO GIRL!!! #CreativelyLinked #BossBabe #GirlBoss
I asked Jules what her current goals are and she shared they are to continue growing her coffee shop with her mother and prepare for expansion as well as creating ways to give back to her community. She is also currently studying to become a certified personal trainer! A couple skills that Jules would like to master is the latte art & public speaking. I know she will be able to accomplish and meet any goal she sets. #GoalGetter !
Jules shared her fears with me and I couldn’t be more grateful that she opened up about them. She stated “as a creative, I am my own worst critic. So I consider one of my biggest fears was thinking my creations weren’t good enough to share with the world. Over time, I have learned and continuously remind myself that no matter what, there is always going to be room for improvement in anything and everything we do.” Everyone has fears that hold them back and we must always face our fears head on and destroy them!
If Jules could go back in time and speak to her younger self she would say: “whatever path you choose in life, just know that there will not be just one. Plans will change along the way and that is what makes life’s journey so beautiful. I would also remind myself that I have the power to make a difference in this world no matter how big or small.”
Jules’ favorite quote is:
“For the highs and lows and moments between, mountains and valleys, and rivers and streams, for where you are now and where you will go, for ‘I’ve always known’ and ‘I told you so,’ for ‘nothing is happening,’ and ‘all has gone wrong,’ it is here in this journey you will learn to be strong, you will get where you’re going, landing where you belong.”
– Morgan Harper Nicholas
Jules explained how she found this quote and what it means to her: “I came across this quote a few weeks ago and it is pretty straightforward to anyone. I post a “Quote of the Week” (QOTW) every Monday to my SnapChat and Facebook to put out positivity and knowledge to the person/s who need to see it. It helps me keep a focused and positive mindset and I like to believe it helps others as well whether it’s all of my friends or just one. I have been doing this for 77 weeks now and have kept a journal on it to make sure every week is something brand new. We’ve all got something going on in our life, most events that we can’t prepare for, but it’s important to keep a strong heart and mind and learn from every experience. Everything we encounter, good or bad, is going to teach us a lesson and help us grow. My belief is that everything happens for a reason, and when you think you’re at your lowest or highest in life, there is always going to be something better that comes along.”
Jules’ mission statement for her life is:
Give love, be kind, do what makes you happy, focus on the positive, and always know your why. It’s as sweet and simple as that.
I asked Jules if what she is doing now is what she wanted to do when she was growing up? & she responded ” in a very small way, yes. Growing up, I always desired to be a teacher. I did take some classes in college to pursue that, but then found a new path and changed my major to English. Though I am not a traditional teacher in a classroom, I take any opportunity I can to teach my friends, family, or even a new person I just meet, about knowledge I’ve gained through self-help books, philosophy and life’s experiences. Being able to help someone in any way is something I find major joy in.” A fun fact about Jules is that if she didn’t have to sleep to survive she would be spending more time on executing all the plans she has for her coffee shop, fitness, photography, writing, and she also said “I would never be tired to miss any days in the gym!” LOL! 🙂
Have you ever heard the phrase “everyone has a book in them”? Well this phase has always intrigued me and I love to ask people this question. I feel like its a fun and creative way to get to know someone! Jules response was great; “My book would be similar to that of Animorphs, but instead of transforming into an animal, it’s the never-ending story of me transforming into ME. What I mean by that is we don’t come into this world knowing who we truly are. We spend most our lives trying to figure it out; unfortunately not everyone does find out who they are or what their purpose is. I know I’m not alone on this one, but my whole life I have gone through changing phases in everything including my style, music, reading, art, and most importantly my perspective on life. But my perspective is something that has consistently changed for the better every year, month, and day. It takes daily practice to have a positive focus on all things we encounter in life, to have determination and never settle for mediocrity. Too many people in this world are okay with comfortable and settle for the bare minimum just to get by. I’ve met those who say they are too young to make a dream come true and I’ve witnessed those who think they’re too old now. Truth of the matter is, you are never too young or too old to dream and make those dreams a reality. ” What wise words from this beautiful soul, I really hope every reader takes her words to heart and realizes their own potential! #FollowYourDreams!
A last message from Jules: “I am a woman with many interests and I encourage others to do the same! Not only am I a business owner and student, but I also work part-time in the corporate world to make ends meet, I am a brand ambassador/fitness athlete for an amazing supplement company called ErgoGenix, a coffee connoisseur and also a full-time girlfriend to my soulmate, Alfie Baca Jr. My last advice to you beautiful readers is to be adventurous and explore what the world has to offer and learn what you can offer to the world as well. We are all here with a purpose, but it’s up to you to find out what yours is. Take the journey, enjoy the ride, and TRUST THE PROCESS. We all have 24 hours in a day; what are you doing with your time?” I am so glad I got to get to know Jules and share her story! She is smart, talented , beautiful and a joy to the world; with that being said Jules is definitely CREATIVELY LINKED!
